RING OF COMBAT RESULTS

New York City, New York- January 27, 2006-Another sell out crowd filled the Capitale Friday night for the latest installment of New York City's premier kick boxing show.

Promoter Louis Neglia put together a massive 17 bout fight card this evening which produced plenty of action but also felt like a marathon by bout 14 as the event went on well past 1:00am.

The competition was fierce through out the night as some of the best local fight teams squared off this evening.

Team TSK's Katlyn Chookagian upset defending women's WKA Northeast Champion Andrea DeAngelo, the TSK fighter is now the new WKA Northeast women's title holder.

Julio Flores defended his regional 153lb title for the first time against the very tough Frenchman Boris Vuiton. Vuiton's stiff jab & reach created some difficulty for Flores but his aggressive ring control & solid punching led him to victory.

The match between Team Extreme's Jarrell Miller & Weapon's 9's Jim Smith appeared to be a mismatch based on physical appearance. Smith was ripped, a true physical speciman; while Miller appeared to be shedding quite a bit of weight and was a bit on the flabby side. The Extreme Lacosta fighter was not intimidated by his muscular opponent. The two big men went to war for three rounds with "king kong killer" Miller pulling out the split decision victory. Do not judge a book by it's cover.

The main event of the evening was a rematch between Team Extreme's Terrence "Big T" Connor & former Champion Derrick Riddick out of the Wat Gym. Riddick was not taking Connor lightly this time as he came out swinging for the KO during the first round and actually had Connor reeling at the end of the first round. Lacosta settled his fighter down at the end of the round and sent Connor out to defend his belt. "Big T" did not disappoint, the remaining crowd was on the edge of their seats as both men traded blows all over the ring. It was Connor who landed the finishing strikes in the second round and KO'D Riddick to retain his belt in dramatic fashion.
