What: Ring of Combat 15: “Beasts of the Northeast” Tournament
Promoter Lou Neglia’s Ring of Combat returns with a mammoth 16-bout card, and it marks the opening round in another grand prix-style tournament – this one spanning the lightweight, welterweight, middleweight and light-heavyweight divisions. Dubbed “Beasts of the Northeast”, ROC 15 features some serious “beasts” in the form of champ Marc Stevens, former champ James Gabert, ace-grappler Brian McLaughlin, and veteran Lance Everson, but this an MMA tournament, folks, and anything can happen between now, the October 26th semi-finals and the November 30th finals.

Ring of Combat 15: “Beasts of the Northeast” Tournament Opening Round
(September 7th, Tropicana Casino & Resort, Atlantic City) There were sweet submissions and there were brutal knockouts. The opening round of Ring of Combat’s “Beasts of the Northeast” tournament played out tonight at the Tropicana Showroom, and a packed house was treated to everything from surprise upsets to expected beatdowns as fighters battled their way to a semi-final slot. Some highlights of the event included:
• Team Serra/Longo’s Eddie Fyvie, who beat the heck out of Biff Walizer on the ground before knocking him out on the feet.
• Bombsquad slugger Erik Charles and his quick knockout of Gabe Toribio. One right hand was all it took.
• ROC champ Marc Stevens, who out-wrestled the wrestler in Jordan Pergola and pounded him mercilessly for the stoppage.
