"PROVING GROUNDS" AMATEUR MMA PROVES TO BE A SUCCESS

He is one of the pioneer kickboxing promoters in New York. His “COMBAT AT THE CAPITALE” kickboxing events continue to play before SRO crowds. His ‘RING OF COMBAT’ Professional MMA events are broadcast on HDNet Fights. What would make one believe that USKBA Action Sports Promoter Louis Neglia would not succeed with another new venture?! After seeing his “PROVING GROUNDS” Amateur MMA event on April 12, 2008 in Rahway, New Jersey, the answer was clear… NOTHING!
Not only was “PROVING GROUNDS” a premier showcase for up and coming MMA talent to ‘prove themselves’, it also proved that Promoter Neglia has another hit on his hands. Teaming up with Ray Longo, “PROVING GROUNDS” packed the Rahway Recreation Center with enthusiastic fans, notable MMA stars and Amateur MMA action that had the crowd on their feet.

– James Kasyjanski (238.0 lbs) def Sean O’Brien (243.0 lbs) by submission (armbar) at 0:54 of Round 1.
‘GENESIS RANKINGS’ – Kasyjanski receives 3 points, O’Brien receives 1 point
USKBA Amateur MMA Heavyweight Division
– Elvin Rodriguez (197.0 lbs) def Dennis Martinez (198.0 lbs) by unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27, 29-28).
‘GENESIS RANKINGS’ – Rodriguez receives 3 points, Martinez receives 1 point
USKBA Amateur MMA Light Heavyweight Division
– Michael Rinaldi (174.0 lbs) and Jason Somers (174.6 lbs) ruled a no-contest. Rinaldi could not continue (advice of doctor) after receiving unintentional punch. Could not go to Judges’ Scorecards since this happened in the first round.
