Two Bombardiers from Japan compete at the Capitale (A landmark site in NYC) A spectacular show in a spectacular place! The honors belong to Louis Neglia, Promoter, and the Palatial Capitale in New York City, site of Neglia's splendid February 11th kickboxing event. It was the perfect showcase for glory. Action and space were an ideal fit. An architecht whose life was featured in James Cagney's final film, Ragtime, built the Capitale in the 19th century. Corinthian columns, venetian glass, marble mosaic floors and sixty-five feet high ceilings make it look like a grand gold temple styled in the best of taste with a genuinely awesome atmosphere. The 40,000 square foot Capitale was sold out and packed with wildly enthusiastic fans who witnessed a night of the most dramatic and skilled Kickboxing and Muay Thai imaginable. The quality of the action was remarkebly consistent, considering there were 14 battles, professional and amateur, of men and women in many weight divisions. Fighting enginuity and brave hearts were in evidence all night. This is one of those rare instances of a claim that sounds too good to be true being nonetheless valid. Had an exit poll been taken of the fans leaving the Calitale after the show, it would have reflected a uninanimous sense that a finer display of athleticism and artistry in Martial Arts is simply not available anywhere else. Some of the contests were intensely anticipated for years. Two of Japan's most powerful fighters made the ten thousand mile trip for what they knew was the chance of a lifetime These were the results of the WKA USKBA sanctioned event: Results:
